6. Harry Potter - The Potions Master

We now meet one of the best characters in literature. He’s brilliant. He’s nasty. He’s got a grudge against Harry. He won’t even call on Hermione even though she has her hand up! As a teacher, I want to be like Snape every day (not!). But he’s very, very complicated and worth getting to know.

• Write an entry on what it’s like finding a topic. Confusing? Hard to narrow it down? Easy because you always wanted to (Since when? Why?). Please be honest. My reflection is here:

Mr Woollcombe’s reflection on CNC routers and lasers: Projects can be tough for me. My problem is I have too many ideas and I have a tough time really following through on any of them. Sometimes one exciting idea makes me think of 10 more, and I just get overwhelmed. Other times I get lazy and decide to continue later, but I don’t. With CNC routers, I’ve been interested for years but the expense of buying one was an issue. Now, I have all the parts and I’ve learned enough to really get started. There are lots of resources out there and I have the time and space. I’m a bit worried about the laser, but I’m pretty sure I won’t blow anything up. It feels pretty positive right now, and I can’t wait to take the next step!

In Philosophers’ Stone, the candies off the cart on the train are weird. They’re fun and magical, but it seems each one has a ‘catch’: The chocolate frogs can jump away, and the Every Flavour Beans can sometimes taste like boogers. What are the kinds of candy they DON’T tell you about? (make some up - 2-3 kinds). I like Uncle Augie’s Extremely Expanding Gum.
